100 successful women is a 100 part radio series, designed to promote the values of women’s involvement in Afghan society across the country. The series will broadcast on Moby’s Arman and Arakozia radio stations beginning June 1, 2013.
Afghan women increasingly play an active role in society, despite the
many barriers that exist in regards to access to opportunities. Some of these roles have been in the private sector, through developing successful and sustainable businesses;
in civil society, through activism and advocating for women’s rights; and in government. Lapis travels
across the country to uncover and document these inspiring stories and to create a vibrant and open discussion around these stories. 100 successful women will be broadcast on 1st June and 2nd June 2013, Saturday to Wednesday at 10:30 am - 11:00 am in the “9-to-12” program on Arman FM and Sunday to
Thursday at 10:00 am - 11:00 am in the “De Ghag Studio” on Arakozia FM.
People’s Voice is a 19 - part elections related town hall debate series, which takes place in provinces across the country. The series will broadcast on Moby’s Arman, Arakozia radio stations as well as Lemar, TOLO TV and TOLO News beginning April 15, 2013.
Tolo News travels across the country empowering the voices of the Afghan people and ensuring their opinions regarding the 2014 elections are heard not only by their peers but their future president. People’s Voice, is a town hall debate series that works to increase general understanding of the importance of the elections for the future success of Afghanistan. Through dialogue and the participation of civil society across the country, the series serves to increase the confidence of the Afghan people that the 2014 elections will be free, fair, transparent and sustainable. Through People’s Voice, Tolo News encourages people to debate and educate themselves on issues surrounding the 2014 elections not only in their own provinces, but throughout the country creating a strong and united Afghan people. People's Voice will be broadcast every Monday at 10.30 PM on Lemar TV.
Local Co-production, Baghch-e-Simsim, to Feature Live Action Films and Segments with World-Beloved Elmo, Grover and the Sesame Friends
(New York, NY and Kabul, Afghanistan, November 30, 2011) — Sesame Workshop, the non-profit educational organization behind Sesame Street, in partnership with TOLO TV and LEMAR TV stations, have produced Baghch-e-Simsim, a brand new children’s television series featuring locally produced live action films and the Muppets from Sesame Street, to engage and help educate the young children of Afghanistan. While the under-five population of Afghanistan numbers nearly five million, only a small percentage of children are served by Kodakistans (the country’s kindergarten system). Designed to meet this need for early education, the 26 half-hour series of Baghch-e-Simsim, produced in consultation with Afghanistan’s Ministry of Education, will be broadcast in both Dari and Pashto languages and premieres December 1, 2011. Baghch-e-Simsim will be broadcast on TOLO TV every Thursday through Sunday at 4PM as well as on LEMAR TV every Thursday and Friday at 5PM and Saturdays and Sundays at 3:30PM.
